Bhubaneswar, Feb. 16 -- In a major offensive against online fraud, Odisha Police arrested 20 cyber criminals and registered 17 new cases during a day-long statewide drive under 'Operation Cyber Kavach'.

The special campaign, launched on February 14, is aimed at dismantling cybercrime networks by targeting mule bank accounts that serve as the financial backbone of fraudulent activities.

Police sources said extensive action was carried out across several districts against benami or "mule" bank accounts used to channel funds obtained through cyber fraud.
