Bhubaneswar, March 11 -- In one of the biggest operations against sand, moram, and stone mafias in Odisha, the police have so far registered 456 cases and arrested 360 people.
The special operation was launched on March 7 with the cooperation of the district administration, the Mines Department, and the Police Department, following the directives of State Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania.
Strict action is being taken against the sand, moram, and Mankada stone mafias in the state. The state police are conducting raids at various locations and seizing tractors, trucks, tippers, and lorries loaded with sand, Director General of Security Yogesh Bahadur Khurania informed the media.
