Bhubaneswar, Jan. 15 -- In a major statewide initiative, the Odisha Police launched "Operation Strike" to ensure that Makar Sankranti is celebrated in a safe, peaceful, and orderly manner. The large-scale operation saw active participation from all 34 police districts across the state.

The campaign focused on controlling crime and cracking down on criminal activities, including drunk driving, narcotics and firearm trafficking, gambling, illegal mining of minor minerals, and cattle smuggling. Non-bailable offenders were also identified and arrested during the operation.
