Bhubaneswar, Feb. 13 -- In a landmark move toward inclusive agricultural reform, Odisha has strengthened its commitment to women-led development by operationalising a Gender Responsive Cell (GRC) within the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment.
The initiative underscores the state's vision of embedding gender equity at the core of agricultural governance rather than treating it as an add-on.
Addressing the Inception Workshop on "Institutionalising" the Gender Responsive Cell: Framework and Roadmap," Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo said Odisha is the only state to develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for manufacturing women-friendly farm machinery.
