Bhubaneswar, Feb. 20 -- The Odisha government has decided to establish a dedicated Shri Jagannath Mahaprabhu Land Cell within the Revenue Department to strengthen the protection and management of landed properties belonging to Lord Jagannath.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Revenue Secretary Arabinda Padhee to review measures for safeguarding land owned by the deity.
Addressing officials during the meeting, Padhee said that Lord Jagannath is regarded as the supreme spiritual landlord of the Odia community and emphasised that protecting the deity's landed properties is a collective moral responsibility.
