Kendrapara, Dec. 16 -- The Additional District Judge (ADJ) court of Pattamundai on Tuesday sentenced a 44-year-old man to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 55,000 for stabbing a fellow villager to death 32 months back.
The incident occurred on the night of April 14, 2023, in Sahira village under the Aul police jurisdiction. According to Saroj Mallick, Additional Public Prosecutor of the ADJ court of Pattamundai, the attack was motivated by political rivalry.
According to the prosecution one Amit Kumar Patra went with his brother-in-law, Sanjay Kumar Jena, to the neighbouring Dahianta village to receive Prasad at a religious function.
