Kendrapara, Oct. 28 -- The Ad-hoc Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track Special Court) of Kendrapara today sentenced a 36-year-old man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 for raping a minor girl.
According to Special Public Prosecutor (POCSO), Kendrapara, Manoj Kumar Sahoo, the convict Babuli alias Kulamani Samal of Mulapatana village under Derabish police limits, had repeatedly raped the minor, resulting in her becoming five months pregnant.
The victim's mother lodged an FIR at Derabish Police Station on July 26, 2023, alleging that the accused had committed the offence multiple times and threatened to kill the girl and her family members if the incident was disclosed.
