Bhubaneswar, Jan. 31 -- A local court on Saturday sentenced five people to life imprisonment for their involvement in the sensational 2020 murder of businessman Lambodhar Muni of Gosani Nuagaon. Each convict was also fined Rs 5,000, with a provision for rigorous imprisonment of four months in case of default.

The third additional district & sessions judge, Berhampur, B. Goutam, ruled that the convicts would undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for 10 years and pay a fine of Rs. 5,000 each under Section 396 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

They were also sentenced to RI for 10 years and fined Rs. 5,000 each under Section 460, five years and a fine of Rs. 3,000 under another section, and an additional two months of RI under Section 201 of IPC....
