Bhubaneswar, Feb. 17 -- In a significant crackdown on corruption, a vigilance court in Bhubaneswar has ordered the confiscation of assets worth over Rs.2.5 crore belonging to a retired government engineer.
The ruling reinforces Odisha's ongoing efforts to curb the accumulation of wealth through illegal means and uphold transparency in public service.
The Confiscation Court (Authorised Officer, Special Court, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar) on Tuesday ordered the confiscation of disproportionate assets worth Rs.2,50,44,029 belonging to Simadri Nayak, a retired Executive Engineer of the R.W. Division, Umerkote in Nabarangapur district.
