Bhubaneswar, March 24 -- The Odisha Assembly has been witnessing continuous disruptions since March 17, as the Opposition BJD and Congress persist in their demand for the resignation of Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling following the tragic fire at SCB Medical College and Hospital on March 16, which claimed 12 lives.
Efforts to resolve the impasse have so far proved unsuccessful. Speaker Surama Padhy convened three all-party meetings, but no consensus could be reached, with the Opposition remaining firm on its demand for the minister's resignation.
