Bhubaneshwar, April 24 -- With the coastal State continuing to be in the grip of punishing heat and humidity, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday announced an early summer vacation for children of all government and private schools.
All schools are to remain closed from 27 April next.
Decision for early summer vacation has been taken keeping in view the safety and well-being of school children, a statement issued by the Chief Minister's office said.
The Chief Minister has approved a proposal in this regard submitted by the School and Mass Education Department, it further said.
