Bhubaneswar, March 25 -- In a major step to expand clean energy infrastructure in urban Odisha, the State Government has issued a new order to simplify and fast-track approvals for City Gas Distribution (CGD) projects.
Officials say the move is expected to significantly accelerate the rollout of piped natural gas (PNG) connections, promote cleaner fuel usage, and strengthen urban infrastructure, supporting Odisha's transition toward a sustainable, energy-efficient future.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Department and IDCO Chairperson, Usha Padhee, emphasized that the order underscores the government's commitment to building a gas-based economy and increasing access to clean fuel in urban areas.
