Itanagar, Jan. 29 -- An active cadre member of the NSCN(R), identified as Self-Styled (SS) Sgt Khunpong Wangsa (30), has surrendered before 36 Battalion CRPF, 44 Assam Rifles and Civil Police on Wednesday at Khonsa, Tirap district, police said on Thursday.
Police said the surrendered militant, a resident of Lower Kolam village under Lazu Police Station in Tirap district, had joined the insurgent outfit on November 25, 2022. The surrender took place in the presence of CRPF DIG (Ops), Dibrugarh, Prabhakar Tripathy.
