Kalyan, March 13 -- An unidentified person has scammed a woman from Maharashtra's Kalyan, now settled in London for professional reasons, of Rs 51 lakhs 56 thousand by promising increased returns in share investment.
The victim and her relatives have filed a complaint at Mahatma Phule Police Station in Kalyan.
Police informed that two months ago, while at home in London, she saw an advertisement on Facebook asking if she wanted guidance in share trading. As soon as the advertisement opened, the complainant woman's mobile number was linked to a WhatsApp number. After that, she was given information online on how to get increased profits from stock investment in a short period of time, said the police.
