Shillong, Aug. 7 -- Defending champion NorthEast United FC will look to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Durand Cup when they take on Shillong Lajong FC in a fiercely anticipated NorthEast Derby at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here in Meghalaya on Friday.





High-spirited Shillong Lajong FC will look to ride their winning momentum into a defining showdown against the Highlanders.





This will be the third straight Durand Cup meeting between the two regional rivals.





The Red Dragons have registered back-to-back wins with a commanding 6-0 win over Malaysian Armed Forces FT, followed by a 3-1 victory in the Shillong Derby against Rangdajied United FC.
