Siliguri, April 8 -- West Bengal police on Wednesday produced several accused, including Mofakkerul Islam and Akramul Bagani, before a court in connection with the alleged wrongful confinement of judicial officials at Mothabari, as well as a separate case registered against Islam at Kaliachak police station.
Amid speculation that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) might take over the probe, sources indicated that no formal application has yet been moved before the court seeking transfer of the case or custody to the central agency.
