Shillong, Sept. 10 -- Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, told the assembly on Wednesday, that no individual, who is not a citizen of Meghalaya, will be included in the electoral rolls.
He however said that the government will strive to balance the need to ensure genuine citizens are not inconvenienced.
"Let me assure we will do our best to balance where genuine citizens are not harassed and those who are not citizens of the state are not included (in the electoral roll)," Sangma in the course of his reply on a cut-motion moved by opposition Trinamool Congress legislators, Miani Shira and Dr. Mizanur Rahman Kazi.
