Aizawl, April 22 -- Voting for the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) elections passed off peacefully on Tuesday, with an estimated 60.36 per cent of the electorate exercising their franchise.
No untoward incidents reported across the city, officials said.
Polling stations closed at 6:40 pm, marking the end of a crucial civic exercise that witnessed a moderate voter turnout.
According to official figures, 60.36 per cent of the total 2,39,985 registered voters cast their votes. Of the total electorate, women voters numbered 1,29,650. A total of 65,559 women exercised their franchise, while 79,254 male voters turned up at polling stations.
