Patna, April 4 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday directed Indian Forest Service (IFS) probationary officers of the 2024 batch allotted to the Bihar cadre to actively work towards increasing the state's green cover.

During an interaction with the trainee officers at 'Sankalp Sabhagar' located at 1 Anne Marg, the Chief Minister said that Bihar's forest and green cover, which once stood at just 9 per cent, has increased to 17 per cent through sustained efforts of the state government. He urged the officers to contribute further in enhancing this coverage.
