Patna, March 5 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday filed his nomination papers for Rajya Sabha biennial elections, ending speculation on whether he would step down as CM to opt for becoming a member of the Upper House of Parliament.

JD(U) leader and sitting Rajya Sabha member Ramnath Thakur, BJP president Nitin Nabin, BJP leader Shivesh Kumar and RLM president Upendra Kushwaha also filed their nomination papers as NDA candidates.

Kumar and other NDA candidates along with union Home Minister Amit Shah and other leaders reached Bihar Assembly to file their nomination papers.

After completing necessary formalities, Kumar and four other NDA candidates filed their nomination papers for Rajya Sabha.
