Patna, Feb. 1 -- Describing the union Budget as positive, progressive and forward-looking, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Sunday that it reflects the Government's strong commitment towards building a Developed India.

Hailing the Budget, Kumar said here that it focuses on accelerating the pace of national development through several major policy initiatives and infrastructure-driven reforms.

The announcement of seven high-speed rail corridors across the country is a landmark step, he said adding that the proposed Varanasi-Siliguri High-Speed Rail Corridor is expected to significantly benefit Bihar by improving connectivity, boosting trade and enhancing economic activities in the region.
