Patna, March 3 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced the name of its national president Nitin Nabin as its candidate for the 2026 biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha from Bihar.

BJP National General Secretary and Headquarters in-charge Arun Singh said in a release that the party had approved Nabin's name along with nine other candidates for elections to be held in various states. He said the Central Election Committee had cleared the proposal.

Nitin Nabin, a prominent leader from Bihar, represents the Bankipur Assembly constituency. He has won the seat four times and has served as a minister in the Nitish Kumar government.
