New Delhi, April 6 -- Nineteen newly elected members from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Odisha took oath or affirmation in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, marking the beginning of their parliamentary tenure in the Upper House.

Among those sworn in were prominent political figures such as Ramdas Athawale and Sharad Pawar from Maharashtra, alongside Anbumani Ramadoss and Tiruchi Siva from Tamil Nadu. The oath-taking ceremony, conducted in accordance with constitutional provisions, was administered by the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha C P Radhakrishnan.
