Ampati, Dec. 10 -- District authorities in Meghalaya's South West Garo Hills have imposed a night curfew within a kilometre of the India-Bangladesh border in view of the current situation in Bangladesh, an official said today.

Deputy Commissioner Hema Nayak said the night curfew was imposed in view of the prevailing situation in Bangladesh, there is a likelihood of cross border movement of unwanted elements, members of proscribed militant groups, smugglers and any other illegal activities on India-Bangladesh border.
