New Delhi, Sept. 29 -- A Special NIA court in Ernakulam has sentenced two men to eight years of rigorous imprisonment in the ISIS Kerala-Tamil Nadu case.

The court found Mohammed Azarudheen H and Sheikh Hidayathullah Y guilty under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

They were sentenced to eight years of RI under Section 120B read with Sections 38 and 39 of the UAPA, as well as eight years of RI each under Section 38 and Section 39 of the UAPA. All sentences will run concurrently.

The case involves the propagation of the violent extremist ideology of the proscribed terrorist organization ISIS/Daish by Mohammed Azarudheen and his associates.
