New Delhi, Aug. 18 -- A Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Mumbai has sentenced a man to three years and ten months of rigorous imprisonment in the 2019 Mumbra fake currency case.

This marks the second consecutive conviction in the case. Earlier, the court had sentenced his aide to a rigorous jail term.

The convicted individual, Karnataka-based Radhakrishna Addappa, was also fined Rs 2,000. The court pronounced the sentence after he pleaded guilty to the charges.

NIA investigations revealed that Addappa had handed over counterfeit currency to a co-accused at a KSRTC bus stand in Taluka Gauribidanur, Chikkaballapura district, Karnataka.
