Agartala, Jan. 30 -- National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted a late-night search operation in Tripura's Sepahijala district to locate Anwar Hossain, who is wanted in connection with alleged anti-national activities, police said on Friday.
A special NIA team, with assistance from Bishalgarh police station personnel, conducted the operation in the Karoi Mura area under Bishalgarh subdivision, where the accused is believed to have family ties.
The search was prompted by the issuance of an arrest warrant against Hossain by a special NIA court in Guwahati.
During the operation, the team searched the residence of the accused's father, Manik Mia, in an attempt to find Hossain and execute the warrant, but he could not be located. Sources i...
