New Delhi, Feb. 25 -- An Open House discussion on 'Beggary in India,' organised by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), has called for a coordinated national strategy to eliminate beggary and strict action against beggary mafias and trafficking networks.
The Open House discussion on 'Rethinking Beggary: Bridging Gaps between Policy, Practice and Dignity,' also stressed the need for a rights-based, rehabilitation-oriented approach rooted in constitutional guarantees of equality, dignity and social justice.
