Shillong, July 7 -- Meghalaya Social Welfare Minister, Paul Lyngdoh today said that the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), an apex human rights body in India, has appreciated Meghalaya's multi-sectoral approach in dealing with the drug menace in the State.

Lyngdoh's statement followed after a high-level meeting on Monday chaired by Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of Home, Prestone Tynsong with Rakesh Asthana, the 'special monitor' of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) here in Meghalaya.

The meeting was also attended by Director General of Police, Idashisha Nong and top government officials from the Social Welfare, Law departments, and the Drug Reduction Elimination & Action Mission (DREAM) Mission
