Shimla, Aug. 30 -- The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched urgent restoration works on the Kiratpur-Pandoh-Kullu-Manali section of NH-21 after severe floods, cloudbursts and flash floods caused massive damage in Himachal Pradesh.

NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav today reviewed the situation with officials from the headquarters and the Shimla regional office. He directed immediate measures to restore connectivity, particularly in ten locations on the Kullu-Manali stretch that have been completely washed away and five other points partially damaged.
