Thane, Jan. 1 -- The 'Maa Foundation' has lodged a formal complaint with the Thane Municipal Transport (TMT) administration highlighting the absence of separate toilets and washrooms for women bus drivers and conductors at several terminal points, terming it a fundamental infrastructural lapse affecting dignity, safety and work conditions of women staff.
In a representation submitted to TMT and Transport Minister Dada Bhuse, foundation guide Prema Thakur stated that women employees often work long hours from early morning to late night, but lack access to essential sanitation facilities at depots, forcing them to seek alternatives and resulting in inconvenience, health risks and time loss.
