Shimla, Dec. 29 -- Himachal Pradesh is likely to ring in the New Year with a change in weather.

According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center Shimla, a new western disturbance will become active in the state from December 30th, which is expected to bring light to moderate rain and snowfall to the higher and middle mountainous regions. Rain is also expected in the plains on December 31st and January 1st.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry in most parts of the state for the next two days, December 28th and 29th, but dense to very dense fog is likely to prevail in the plains and lower mountainous regions during the late night and early morning hours.
