Washington, July 11 -- Newly obtained satellite imagery has revealed that the Iranian strikes on the US military base in Qatar on June 23, did in fact succeed in penetrating US air defences, with the imagery showcasing notable damage to a communications centre within the air base, reports Iran International.

While not yet fully verified, if the imagery obtained is confirmed to be true, then it would provide the most concrete indication yet of physical harm to the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military facility in the Middle East and the forward headquarters of US Central Command (CENTCOM).

The US military has not yet commented on the matter.
