Chandigarh, Aug. 19 -- Punjab Higher Education Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa expressed grave concern at the draft of the new education policy released by the central government. Addressing a seminar organised by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the unaided colleges here on Monday, the Minister said that the new education policy if implemented would pose a challenge to the multicultural, multilingual environment of the country. He said that though the policy reiterates India as a Democratic Republic with Justice and Equal Opportunities for everybody but the word 'Secular' has been omitted which is a cause of concern for the religious and linguistic minorities of the country.
