Dhaka, Jan. 20 -- Ramping up security ahead of the 13th polls, almost 900,000 personnel of Bangladesh's security forces, including military and paramilitary services, will be deployed nationwide to maintain law and order during the 13th National Parliament elections, according to Lt Gen (Retd) Home Affairs Advisor Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

Briefing reporters after the 20th meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Law and Order at the Secretariat in Dhaka, according to Chowdhury, a total of 897,117 personnel from various agencies will be engaged in election duties.

The security deployment will include around 100,000 members of the army, 5,000 from the navy and 3,730 from the air force.
