New Delhi, Nov. 27 -- Work has begun to clean and restore an almost seven kilometer trunk sewer line, from West Delhi's Jail Road, going up to Keshopur Sewage Treatment Plant, which had not been cleaned for many years, and had nearly 65 per cent silt deposition, Delhi's Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood said on Wednesday.
Cleaning of the main sewer line would provide major relief from overflowing sewers, water accumulation, and sanitation issues faced by residents of several areas in West Delhi, including Janakpuri, Hari Nagar, Shiv Nagar.
Due to the clogged sewer line, several areas in West Delhi were facing severe sewage overflow and drainage problems.
