Dehradun, Dec. 25 -- Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) will now be cheaper in Uttarakhand as Pushkar Singh Dhami cabinet today reduced Value Added Tax (VAT) on them from existing 20 percent to five percent.
The Dhami government also finalised rates for procuring apples from disaster-hit Dharali area hills in Uttarkashi and doubled monthly pension of elderly and destitute folk artistes of the state.
Taking an important decision, Uttarakhand cabinet has approved reduction of VAT on natural gases CNG and PNG from current 20 percent to five percent.
