Hyderabad, March 9 -- Thousands of people gathered at Indira Park under the banner of the National BC Welfare Association, demanding the government halt the sale of public lands and use them to construct hostels and Gurukuls.

National BC Welfare Association President and Rajya Sabha MP R Krishnaiah led the protest, emphasising that government lands should serve public needs rather than be auctioned for revenue.

Addressing the protest, Krishnaiah strongly opposed the government's decision to sell lands in Gachibowli and other areas, urging the administration to prioritise education and welfare by building hostels and Gurukuls instead.
