Kolkata, March 4 -- Mystery shrouds the death of three members of a family - husband, his wife, and their minor son - at their home in south Kolkata's Haltu, police said on Tuesday.
Somnath Roy (40), his spouse Sumitra, and their two-and-half-year-old son Rudranir were found hanging by a rope from the ceiling at their Purbasthali home under Kasba police station this morning.
The body of Somnath Roy was found hanging with his son in his lap and Sumitra was also found hanging by a rope in the same room.
The neighbours, who saw them for the last time on Sunday, called the police today when they found their main door locked from outside.
They called the police, who broke open the door and found the bodies.
