Bhubaneswar, Jan. 19 -- Elite livestock breeds including Murrah buffalo bulls "Surveer" and "Inder" from Haryana, a rare Punganur cow from Andhra Pradesh, and a Kankrej bull from Gujarat will be the major attractions of the State-level Matsya Pranee Samavesh Odisha 2026 (MPSO-2026), scheduled to be held from January 21 to 23 at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar.
The Murrah buffalo bulls and the Kankrej bull are expected to create awareness among dairy farmers of Odisha about scientific breeding practices, particularly the benefits of Murrah breeding for enhanced milk productivity. The display of the small-sized Punganur cattle will introduce cowherds to new dimensions of traditional cattle rearing and Gopalan practices.
