Barabanki, Feb. 10 -- A murder accused who had given police the slip in court has been arrested, in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh.
Police in Barabanki arrested Suraj, who had absconded from court on Saturday just as the judge pronounced his conviction in a murder case, following an intensive search.
Coincidentally, he will now be produced before the court on Monday-the very day fixed for the hearing on his sentence-and sent to jail thereafter.
The incident dates back to Saturday, when Suraj, a resident of Rohna Mirapur in the Subeha police station area, appeared before the Court of the Additional District and Sessions Judge (Court No. 2) for the final hearing in a ten-year-old murder case.
