Mumbai, Oct. 26 -- Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Sanjay Raut today claimed that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will have to merge his faction with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the upcoming municipal elections.
Raut said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have advised Shinde to do so.
Raut asserted that it would be "impossible" for Shinde's faction to defend itself in the Supreme Court, adding, "If they succeed, it will shake not just Indians' faith in the judiciary, but also that of the entire world."He said the ongoing Shiv Sena case has drawn global attention to India's Constitution and democracy.
