Mumbai, Aug. 16 -- The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police is set to issue summons to Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband Raj Kundra in a cheating case. The couple has been accused of duping a Juhu-based business executive of Rs 60.48 crore under the pretext of a business investment. Officials said the two will soon be asked to appear before the EOW office to record their statements.
As per the procedure, after the registration of an offence, the accused named in the complaint should be called first and their statement should be recorded later. Further courses of action, including arrest and other action, should take place. Hence, a summons will be issued shortly, the official added.
