Mumbai, Sept. 15 -- The Mumbai Police has for the first time invoked the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in a major drug seizure case.
The police have arrested 26-year-old Kainat Sheikh, described as the alleged mastermind of an organised drug trafficking network. The Bandra unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell arrested Sheikh from her sister's house in Dahisar where she was hiding following the arrest of her nephew, Adnan Sheikh.
According to police reports, Kainat and Adnan were operating a network that used porters to deliver small packets of Mephedrone (MD) to avoid police detection.
