New Delhi, Jan. 30 -- The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) continue to play a pivotal role in India's industrial economy, contributing over 35 per cent to manufacturing output, nearly half of the country's exports, and more than 31 pc to GDP, said the Economic Survey 2026 tabled in Parliament today.
The Survey highlighted that with about 7.47 crore enterprises employing nearly 32.82 crore people, MSMEs remain the second-largest source of employment in the country after agriculture.
