New Delhi, March 6 -- Communist Party of India (CPI) MP Sandosh Kumar P has raised concerns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over what he called threats to India's sovereign and independent foreign policy.
In his letter addressed to PM Modi, the MP criticised recent remarks by Scott Baesent, warning that portraying India as dependent on US "permission" for energy decisions undermines the nation's strategic autonomy, especially amid escalating tensions in West Asia.
He said that it is troubling and humiliating for a sovereign country like India to be depicted as dependent on another country's "permission" or "waiver" to meet its energy needs.
