Hyderabad, Jan. 19 -- Rajya Sabha MP and National President of the BC Welfare Association R Krishnaiah on Monday demanded that the Telangana government immediately issue a notification to fill 30,000 vacant teacher posts in government schools across the State.

Speaking at the BC Teachers' Association (BCTA) State Executive Committee meeting held at BC Bhavan, Vidyanagar, Krishnaiah said thousands of schools were facing an acute shortage of teachers, particularly for English, Mathematics and Science, affecting students' academic performance and their ability to compete in national-level examinations such as NEET and engineering entrance tests.
