Bhopal, Feb. 5 -- The Madhya Pradesh BJP government has decided to provide free registration of residential plots allotted to families of oustees displaced by the Sardar Sarovar Project in the Narmada Valley.
The decision was taken at the meeting of the cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav at Bhopal on Wednesday.
State government officials said that as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), the registration fee and stamp duty payable will be reimbursed by the Narmada Valley Development Authority.
More than 25,600 families displaced by the project and residing in Alirajpur, Barwani, Khargone, and Dhar districts of Madhya Pradesh will benefit from the move. Some areas in these districts of MP have come under submergence du...
