Shimla, Feb. 7 -- Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Employees union on Saturday said its proposed strike on February 12 would proceed as scheduled and is expected to be successful, asserting that it enjoys the support of all non-engineering employees and about 95 percent of the technical staff.

Convenor of Himachal Pradesh Electricity Board Employees union Nitish Bhardwaj said in a press release today that the strength of the movement lies in the unity of employees and the seriousness of their long-pending demands.

The union also pointed out that it has kept itself away from the February 12 strike at the national level for political reasons, but said this would not weaken the agitation.
