Los Angeles, Aug. 10 -- While "Oh, Hi!" may feel like the setup for a twisted thriller, Molly Gordon, its star, co-writer and producer, insists she was determined to keep the film far from the horror genre.

Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Gordon revealed that during the development phase, multiple industry figures suggested altering the Sophie Brooks, directed romantic dramedy into something more sinister, reports DEADLINE.

"It's interesting. We were discussing that it's such a dark time [in the industry], but horror's kind of the only thing that's working," she said.
